Alessandro Francalanci is an Italian fashion designer born in Florence, whose aesthetic sensibilities are deeply rooted in the city’s history of art, craftsmanship, and antiquity.
He refined his creative foundation at Central Saint Martins in London before spending a year shadowing John Galliano, an experience that shaped his approach to construction, narrative, and couture technique. Francalanci began his professional career at Maison Margiela, contributing to Galliano’s first two collections for the house. He later joined Tom Ford, where he spent seven years and ultimately served as Womenswear Director before departing in 2023.
Raised among antiques and ancient art, Francalanci developed a profound appreciation for historical objects and the stories embedded within them—a reverence that continues to inform his approach to silhouette, embellishment, and material experimentation.
In 2024, he established FRANCALANCI Studio in Los Angeles, a multidisciplinary atelier dedicated to couture, custom tailoring, jewelry, and experimental design. Since its founding, the studio has produced bespoke pieces for clients including Cardi B, Camila Cabello, CL, Vanessa Getty, and Maren Morris.
Today, Francalanci is expanding his creative universe through jewelry, ready-to-wear, couture, and explorations yet to be revealed, driven by an enduring belief in craftsmanship, storytelling, and the beauty of transformation.
